Returning to work after having a baby can be difficult for many women. Maternity leave is not required to be paid, and if a woman meets the FMLA’s requirements, she is offered 12 weeks of unpaid leave. This leads to the employment of only 62% of women who have given birth. Women who do return to work report more positive psychological health.
