But the real problem lies with the folks who do know better and just can’t be bothered, or simply know that the average stumbleupon user doesn’t care where an image or video came from as long as they get to watch it. Once they’ve had their laugh or whatever, they’ll simply click on the stumble button and won’t bother clicking any credit or attribution links.

There is simply no pint on relying on the good graces of others, you have to take steps t protect your own content. Doesn’t mater if it’s image watermarking, preventing hotlinking etc, you’ve got to do it yourself.
